A National Council on Archives service, which can be accessed at www.nca.org.uk/lottery∞.
The Archive Lottery Advisory Service is delivered by the National Council on Archives∞, and funded by The National Archives (TNA) and the Museums, Libraries & Archives Council (MLA) and others. It provides advice to archive offices, community groups, and others that require advice and guidance on applying for Heritage Lottery∞ funding for projects involving work with archives. These projects can include oral history archives, image archives, historical collections and contemporary archiving.
The service includes latest updates on trends in lottery funding, programmes and eligibility criteria; workshops delivered across the UK; review of draft applications prior to submission; and guidance on the often-complex application processes required. There is even a mailing list that can be joined. This service is absolutely FREE to use and access, and is open to any groups or organisations looking to develop projects involving archives.
The Community Archaeology Forum and the CBA's Community Archaeology email discussion list∞ will be announcing future training events organised by the Archive Lottery Advisory Service, particularly in instances when they are aimed primarily at community groups. In addition, further updates will appear periodically through the Advisory Service's own web pages.
