CBA Challenge Funding Award
Groups, societies and individuals are invited to put forward proposals to support new or existing innovative research projects, which will enhance the understanding of local heritage, and thus aid its future care. Additional funds have now been secured to enhance this grant giving scheme.
What is Challenge Funding?
The CBA's Challenge Funding Scheme is a grant scheme that provides modest grants to encourage independent, voluntary effort in original archaeological research. It is currently supported by English Heritage, although discussions are underway to extend the reach of the funding into Wales and possibly even further afield. If you are based in Scotland, check the gov.uk/index/heritage/grants/grants-voluntary-sector-funding.htm. Historic Scotland∞ website for details of a similar scheme.
Who can apply and what sort of projects are eligible?
Groups, societies and individuals working in a voluntary capacity or promoting voluntary involvement. At present the project for which you seek funding must be based in England.
