Lammerside Castle is a high status manorial site set in stunning countryside. The ruin, the medieval gatehouse, is protected as a Scheduled Ancient Monument. There are earthworks surrounding the tower and on the adjacent slopes are a series of medieval pillow mounds (flat topped rectangular mound surrounded by a shallow ditch, used to farm rabbits). No previous experience needed as full training will be provided. Please contact Jennifer Morrison, Secretary on 0191 2816117 or cbanorth@britarch.ac.uk∞
