Heritage Link Diversity and Heritage Workshop Event
Friday 29th June 2007, at Leicester New Walk Museum.
If you are involved in an East Midlands community archaeology project or thinking about setting one up, this highly interactive day will be of real benefit.
Heritage Link's two year Diversity Programme and designed for Voluntary Heritage sector groups and organisations, including local history groups and Civic Societies, historic houses and buildings, gardens, independent museums, archaeology groups, and many others, together with representatives of Community Groups, who are interested in initiating idea and proposals for realistic and fundable projects that reach out to and engage new and diverse groups in their heritage.
The day will have a combination of practical activities, group work and inspirational guest contributors and practitioners, with plenty of opportunities to network, and forge partnerships towards diversity projects.
Heritage Link's definition of Diversity, includes youth and elders, people with disabilities, different faith groups, people from different cultural and ethnic groups, carers and those on low incomes.
Our first two Embracing Difference workshop events were in Birmingham and Hartlepool, and have had fantastic success in helping people gain confidence in putting together their own project proposals.
Registration is at 9.30am, and close at 4.30pm. Lunch and refreshments are provided. Travel bursaries may be available for small voluntary groups. The Diversity Programme is supported by English Heritage.
Places are strictly limited, and if you wish to register please contact
