Through a combination of specialist tuition and ‘hands on’ experience, this study day will introduce you to the practicalities of studying archaeological finds and to their significance for our understanding of past societies. Working with professional finds specialists, you will receive tuition in basic methods of recording and analysis, and will have the opportunity to apply these principles through examining, at first hand, excavated material from different sites and periods. It will be of interest to students of archaeology,
members of archaeological societies, voluntary workers and professionals wishing to gain experience in finds study.
