The site is near Quarley Down and work so far has shown occupation from the Early Bronze age through to the Iron Age. The name of the project is the Quarley Down Ancient Environs Project (QDAEP) and our aim is to extend the excavation and investigate the local environment to build a picture of pre-historic occupation and activity.
As an independent project it will offer the opportunity to take part in:
Excavation – from end of March to September 2010
Field Walking – as and when fields are ploughed
Woodland archaeology – during Jan-Mar 2010 when foliage has died back
