About Us

The CBA is an educational charity working throughout the UK to involve people in archaeology and to promote the appreciation and care of the historic environment for the benefit of present and future generations.

Under the mission statement Archaeology for All, we aim to deliver our strategy through four objectives: participation, discovery, advocacy and sustainability.

For further details of the key principles which guide our work, please see the CBA Strategic Objectives.

Use this section of the website to find out more about the CBA: our history, the wider CBA network, and our staff. Your support and interest is valuable to us, so please consider joining as a CBA member if you have not done so already.

The CBA’s policy on diversifying participation in archaeology is available here. Our work is also guided by an environmental policy (PDF | 77 KB) and we continue to make changes to the way we work and our office accommodation to improve our energy efficiency and minimise our impact on the environment. We encourage all our members to do the same.

If you have a complaint to make about any aspect of the CBA then please do contact us. The CBA has a complaints procedure in place which can be consulted here.
