CBA Groups

Bond Street, Coventry open day The CBA works across the UK together with a network of autonomous Groups covering Wales/Cymru, Scotland and the English Regions. Collectively, these groups offer unique strengths and potential for British archaeology.

You can view an updated calendar of CBA Group activities and events.

The Groups have three core functions:

  • coordination and dissemination of information
  • advice and policy
  • promotion of archaeology

In each of these spheres the Groups provide a counterpart to the CBA’s fields of activity, namely education, research, conservation, information dissemination, and the provision of services for those interested in the archaeology of Great Britain. Groups also have their own agenda, traditions, and special concerns.

Both for practical and historical reasons Scotland and Wales have national roles and additional responsibilities.
