Dr Suzie Thomas
Community Archaeology Support Officer |
Suzie Thomas is the CBA Community Archaeology Support Officer, and is responsible for liaising with voluntary archaeological groups around the country. She takes care of the Community Archaeology Forum, conducts research into the nature, activities and needs of the voluntary sector, and acts as an advocate for local societies and community archaeology groups.
Suzie has previously worked as an Education Officer at Bede’s World, as Secretary for CBA North, and as a tutor at the Universities of Northumbria and Newcastle. She completed her BA in Archaeology and Prehistory at Sheffield University before going on to read for an MA in Heritage Education and Interpretation at Newcastle, where she recently completed a PhD on the relationship between archaeologists and metal detectorists.
