The main reason for joining the CBA should be to support our work of promoting ARCHAEOLOGY for all; but there are many membership benefits that are well worth having too!
6 issues a year of the national CBA magazine British Archaeology.
Free membership of your local region, and an option to join other regions for a small fee.
Annual Report, access to information, education and conservation services, and a voice in the work of the Council.
Training with and use of the Geophysical equipment.
The Council for British Archaeology is
an educational charity (Registered Charity No. 287815) which campaigns
for the better study and care of Britain’s past. Your
membership will help to ensure that archaeology’s voice is heard
where it counts - in Government, the Media, in the Business Community and amongst the general public.
The CBA covers the whole of the United Kingdom – yet cares about what is
local through its network of 12 Regional Groups. (The historic
counties of Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Gloucestershire are
represented by CBA—South-West.)
We are a central point of contact for information about the
Historic Environment. We help all who want to get involved in
archaeology and provide advice, information and a range of publications
for those who want to explore and interpret their own local
surroundings.
National Membership of the CBA including membership of one region chosen by the applicant, is available to individuals and to
institutions. For further information and subscription rates, see
