November 2005: Launch of the new Advisory Panel on the Archaeology of Christian Burials (APACBE). A panel sponsored by the Church of England, English Heritage and the Department of Constitutional Affairs, formed as a source of advice for the public and professionals.

July 2005: DCMS Report published The Ecclesiastical Exemption: The Way Forward - Proposals and Analysis of the Responses to the Consultation. In 2004 the Department for Culture, Media and Sport consulted on the future of the Ecclesiastical Exemption from listed buildings and Conservation Area Consents in England. 'The Ecclesiastical Exemption: The Way Forward' encompasses the Government's proposals in the light of the consultation, and its analysis of the responses to the consultation.
