Community Archaeology
The CBA has always supported and championed the role of the voluntary sector in archaeology. This support includes the award-winning Community Archaeology Forum, a resource signposting advice and guidance for community and voluntary archaeology, as well as providing a space for groups to create their own pages and celebrate their current projects and activities.
We also provide information about opportunities to get involved in your region through our CBA Network, as well as Briefing, TORC – the Training Online Resource Centre and Archaeology Online.
We have also recently received a major grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, with support from English Heritage and Cadw, for an exciting new Community Archaeology Bursaries Project to train archaeologists in best practice for working with volunteers and communities. More details of this project will appear on the Bursaries page in due course, but meanwhile feel free to sign up for instant updates about the project, selecting the ‘Skills for the Future Bursaries enquiries’ option to register your interest.
