Society for Church Archaeology: Research Grant

The Society for Church Archaeology would like to invite applicants for an annual research grant. The amount should not exceed £1,000 and application is open to members of the Society with an interest in conducting field work and research in any area of church archaeology, or its related topics. The grant will cover research, travel related to research, fieldwork or the sundries of fieldwork. The Society would be happy to accept applications for seed corn funding to help attract larger grants. We welcome applications from amateurs, professionals, academics and particularly from young scholars and postgraduate students, although we will not cover the fees for a course. The research should be original and we ask successful applicant to submit a short note to our journal, Church Archaeology, six months after completion of the project.

Please use the application form provided on the website and email to Dr Duncan Sayer by 31 January each year; paper applications cannot, unfortunately, be considered, unless by prior arrangement. Referees’ reports should be sent separately to the same address.
