Results here indicate that the majority of the population is at least willing to consider searching multiple resources at once. A solid percentage actually believe that it would always be useful, unconditionally. The majority of the population believes it depends on what they are searching for, which indicates that they might like the option of only searching one resource to remain open to them. Overall, there is no indication here that portals with the ability to cross-research and produce amalgamated results from a variety of resources would be unpopular. However, the implementation of such a service should be approached cautiously and more research should be done in this important area. Searching multiple resources does appeal more to certain user groups than others, this may be a factor in deciding which resources should be included in multiple resource searches - to identify these goups, please see section 3.3 for a breakdown of results by user group.
