CBA London exists to bring together the many segments of London’s archaeological community in order to support greater public involvement in archaeology, encourage access to scholarship and skills development, and ensure protection of the capital’s historic environment.
We are recruiting an assistant to work with the group’s Trustees, build on their contacts, expertise and experience, and equip the group with the knowledge base that will help it to flourish.
We need someone who is experienced, self-motivated and flexible enough to work on a range of projects and priorities, from developing high profile campaigns on policy issues to coordinating participation in the Festival of British Archaeology, from undertaking research to devising training events. We expect that the assistant will be educated to degree level and have an understanding of how commercial and amateur archaeology works in the UK. Strong communication and computer skills will be needed.
The post will be based in central London, with employment under the auspices of the CBA, and will initially be for a period of six months, working on average one day a week. This may be extended if resources are available.
Pay: £110 per day (equivalent to £13.75 per hour)
