New British Archaeology Magazine Out Now!
The latest issue (no 111) of our British Archaeology magazine is out now, packed with all the usual features, with a focus on the end of the Roman Empire.
Sam Moorhead reviews the sacking of Rome in AD410 and its influence regarding the end of Roman Britain, plus the Project Leaders discuss The Big Dig at Barcombe Roman Villa. New surveys and visitor centre for Stonehenge, Tom Goskar (Wessex) and Graeme Earl (Southampton) introduce Polynomial texture mapping, an exciting new imaging technique. The magazine also looks at heritage policies in view of the new general election, more on Viking Age gold from Yorkshire, Armenian rock art, and forensics at the WWI battle site of Fromelles, France. Mike Pitts also reflects on those the archaeological community has lost in 2009 in Requiem.
Plus all the regular articles on Mick’s Travels with Time Team’s Mick Aston, On the Web, Spoilheap, In View, Science and more.
British Archaeology is a bimonthly members’ magazine from the CBA that is also available by subscription, and in larger WHSmith stores, Borders and the best independent newsagents.
As always, the magazine contains Briefing, the CBA’s comprehensive list of fieldwork, conferences and other events or activities around the UK.
