Whether you’re a local community archaeology group, a university department, a heritage centre or a national museum, you are invited to hold an event as part of the Festival of British Archaeology 2012 and help us in our aim of providing archaeology for all!

There are plenty of opportunities for you to take part in the Festival of British Archaeology. Festival events can cover whatever period, topic, or theme that you feel is appropriate and can be held wherever you’d like. And it’s FREE to take part! Events are held at a huge variety of venues, with a vast array of formats and themes. Holding events during this special fortnight presents an excellent opportunity for you to promote your work, engage with your local communities and help everyone to engage with archaeology and the wider historic environment.

The Festival is coordinated by the Council for British Archaeology and is entirely reliant on the participation and support of heritage groups, societies and organisations around the UK. It runs for a fortnight from Saturday 14 to Sunday 29 July.
