The guide to archaeological fieldwork opportunities outside the UK
Archaeology Abroad comes out annually in spring and provides information about hundreds of varied and exciting archaeological fieldwork opportunities outside the UK suitable for all pockets, archaeological interests and levels of experience.
Bulletins also include illustrated feature articles, reports and dig reviews by Fieldwork Award recipients, guidance notes and advice about joining a dig abroad, plus comprehensive information sections on a wide range of relevant organisations, societies, publications, scholarships and awards.
Archaeology Abroad Email Updates is a new service which supplements the annual bulletin and provides subscribers with up-to-date information about archaeological excavation and field school opportunities on an occasional basis throughout the year.
Archaeology Abroad Fieldwork Awards of betweeen £100-£200 are available annually to help subscribers with their dig expenses. Awards can be put towards the cost of travel, participation or field school fees or other appropriate expenses such as equipment. Projects applied for must be listed in either the annual edition of Archaeology Abroad or in an Email Update.
Archaeology Abroad is produced as a pdf file on CD-ROM, a format which has made it possible to expand and improve the content significantly in recent years. Readers have direct access to further information about all listings via live email and web site links. The CD ROM carries full loading instructions and is easy to use and navigate.
