Gift Aid Scheme

The Gift Aid Scheme, which became effective on 6 April 2000, allows the Council for British Archaeology, as a charity, to recover tax on all membership fees, donations and subscriptions of whatever value paid by taxpayers to the CBA. The tax reclaimed on subscriptions and donations to the Young Archaeologists' Club will be assigned specifically to benefit the Club.

We are eager to maximise the benefit to the Young Archaeologists' Club.

We can only do so with your support

Please complete the Gift Aid Declaration Form below and return it to us with your application form. The Gift Aid Declaration extends our ability to reclaim tax on all charitable donations, membership fees and subscriptions that you make to YAC and the CBA. When signed and returned to us, the Declaration ensures that all donations, membership fees and subscriptions that you pay to the CBA from 6th April 2000 onwards can be the subject of a tax reclaim by the CBA. For higher rate tax payers there is the added incentive of enabling the CBA to recover a further 18% tax on any gross donation or subscription. The tax reclaimed on YAC subscriptions and donations will be assigned specifically to benefit the Club.

Please also consider taking this opportunity to enclose a donation to YAC with your Declaration. In addition, it is now possible for us to benefit from tax relief available for gifts of certain shares and securities which are given to charities. This new tax relief is additional to the existing relief for shares and securities given to charity when calculating capital gains. For more details please contact Peter Olver, Finance Director here at the CBA.

Your assistance in this matter will greatly benefit the Young Archaeologists' Club, and your early response would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your continued support

Vicky Coates
YAC Membership Administrator
